Days of Training
The bright sun and the cool temperature made Atrani, Italy one of the best vacationing spots for the summer in comparison to most places. That destination had plenty of sun, a nearby body of water, and amazing landscapes. Though it was summer, they were not there for vacation. Since the attacks the enemy brought on left the numbers of the official agents in Emblem scarred, they had to quickly replenish it. Kara and the others who had free time made sure it wasn't a vacation by making it a living hell for the recruits.
By the end of the time Barry and Edeline were absent, everyone had new scars and bruises. Some of the girls had to chop off or trim their hair to make it more convenient for them. Most of the guys either bathed less to "save" more time or bathed together. It wasn't strange at all since Agent Dante conveniently had Japanese-styled bathrooms. Shots were given to the recruits to ensure that they wouldn't attract foreign diseases since they were going to be exposed to different environments and climates.
Groups were reselected based on playground rules before the training. Team leaders were chosen. From that point on, they were able to choose their own members. Groups Five and Four were the only ones who remained after the attack out of all of the recruits. The rest were captured along with Agent Raphaella. One girl, Kyung-Soon Ga, was transported from the Alaskan institution. The members of the other facilities were all relocated to the new training areas. Not that many recruits came from the other facilities.
Three people were chosen to lead and pick their groups. Those three people were Ian Page, Richard Hutchins, and Ella Vera. Recruits who weren't chosen as the leader had the choice of which leader they wanted. The new groups were:

Group One:
Ian Page Raine Butler Barry Cox Wayne Malakai Neil Higgins Hughey Toms |
Group Two:
Ella Vera Kyung-Soon Ga Calla Rodrigo |
Group Three:
Richard Hutchins Nathaniel Hutchins Alejandro Rivera |
As a result, there was an imbalance in the amount of people in each group, but the groups were still accepted. Arguing would've been a waste of time and energy.
During the entire time Barry and Edeline were gone, Kara and everyone else had a lot on their plate. They retook their position as the mentors of the new recruits. Raine and Edeline's parents also took on the roles of teaching the new recruits. Agents Walker, Salmon, and Dante were sent off to headquarters while Cora had to travel in the ocean. Kyo and Shen were left behind, so they took on the positions of teaching. No one had time to goof off.
The most important subject, such as those relating to self-defense and offense, were the only subjects who were kept. All of the other subjects that didn't have to do with defending one's self were dropped. Time couldn't be wasted. Therefore, they had to add more subjects relating to combat and weaponry.
Everyone's subject shifted to become more useful in the field. Kara and Sapphire switched over their cooking class for a more violent class. They took over the subject of fencing and swordsmanship. Since Cora had to leave for a secret mission, Kyo had to take up teaching the recruits hand-to-hand combat. Edeline and Barry's absence also meant that someone had to fill in the hacking position. Agent Walker wasn't able to do it since he was elsewhere. Luckily, Edeline's father was skilled in it, so he filled in that position. Surprisingly, the positions that needed to have been filled up were taken by Raine and Edeline's parents.
When Mr. and Mrs. Butler and Iberra taught the new recruits, Raine and the rest finally understood why and how they were chosen to be Emblem agents, even in their semi-old ages. Raine inherited his parent's physical abilities. Since strength was a dominate trait, he obviously inherited it and was extremely skilled in combat. Edeline inherited her hacking ability from her father. Hacking is in her blood. She just didn't inherit her mother's physical abilities.
Barry didn't know it, but Edeline never actually took the physical lessons in Emblem after her selection as an official Emblem agent. She was an exception to the physical portion of the requirements. Edeline was the only one in the group who didn't really pass any of her physical tests, but she did pass all of the computer specialization tests. All she did, or had to do, was learn about computer specialization. Leila just thought it was interesting to make him do it.
After a week, Cora came back to resume her hand-to-hand combat lessons. Kyo also resumed taunting her, so she then pushed off all of her work onto him. She also threatened to kill him if he didn't do it. Raine was caught in Leila's room spying on Edeline and Barry's progress in training. Leila kicked them out and started watching their progress on their relationship. Kara found out and brought some popcorn out and started watching them together. After a while, Raine tattled on Ian, who then realized what they were doing and confiscated the monitor from Leila's room and hid it.
The days of training the new recruits were a success. Within a week and a half, they were able to acquire enough knowledge on defense and offense to be able to use it. Their knowledge was enough to have been the same as a mediocre agent who had been on the field for approximately three years. They were all now prepared to face the enemy.
